The Scamp of Fokionos Negri Street (1965) Kostas Karagiannis

A fashionable aristocratic house owned by a pure and rich virgin heir, living alone without a love of her own… What happens when she meets a youngster of unknown origin and bad reputation?

It all happens in Kypseli, an area of Athens, known also for notorious seedy bars featuring strip-tease artists with marble bodies and husky voices. This part of the area is ruled by gambling thugs and swindlers (In 1965, that is). Today, Fokionos Negri Street is a pedestrian walk with cafés and restaurants. But who knows?

The conflict begins: People of the light and people of darkness draw their weapons: Lust, money, blackmail and power exchange. A poker game showdown!

The scamp throws himself in the pure rich girl’s way, she falls for him and is gradually made to spend fortunes to keep him by her side. Her friends try to advise and protect her. His pals help with all kinds of swindle they can think of, for a share of the fortune. All but one: the marble husky-voiced philosophizing blond. (Beware of the opening song!...)
